Job Description
The Loan Officer Assistant will perform many clerical and customer service related tasks for their assigned Loan Officer. The Loan Officer Assistant must complete their work with a sense of urgency, customer accommodation, teamwork and willingness to make the Loan Officer more efficient and productive.

Duties and Accountabilities

1. Data input- The LO Assistant performs data input functions including: 1.) Inputting files into the Loan Origination System 2.) Inputting files into Automated Underwriting Systems 3.) Inputting data into the Customer Relation Management System which involves lead tracking and follow up tracking. The LO Assistant may also be responsible for sending out all required disclosures so that the banks are in compliance.

2. Clerical - The LO Assistant helps the Loan Officer by performing many clerical functions including faxing documents, preparing correspondence, making copies of borrower information, filing, etc…

3. Prequalification/Pre-approvals - The LO Assistant helps the Loan Officer by ordering in-file credit reports and completing all of the prequalification application, worksheets, approval and denial documents.

4. Marketing - The LO Assistant maintains and updates the Loan Officer’s customer database, mails thank-you notes to customers and Realtors, implements the Realtor and customer postcard campaigns, prepares fliers and rate sheets and other marketing items. They also help with coordinating open house luncheons, Realtor gifts, holiday parties, etc…

5. Order Third Party Services - The LO Assistant generally orders credit reports, FHA/VA case numbers, appraisals, title insurance, flood letters, and other services required to close the mortgage transactions.

6. Trouble Shooting/Pinch-Hitting - The LO Assistant strives to fill-in, when possible, for the Loan Officer when he/she is unavailable. They answer the Loan Officer’s phone, returns calls, and attempts to find answers to the customers’ questions by coordinating with the Loan Officer, Processor and Closer.

High School diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 2 years of Mortgage Lending experience preferable, however not required.
